Location: Houston, TX (not a remote job)

Responsibilities:Design for reliable, safe operations, maintenance and support of telecommunications system to support process and facility operations. Providing communications subject matter expertise in relation to design, review and implementation of telecommunications systems to meet business requirements and ensuring alignment with engineering standards. Provide operational support for updates and undertake initiatives to improve various telecommunications systems on site. Manage and coordinate on-site service provides that are contracted to install, maintain and support the communications infrastructure. Delivery of communications projects in line with business unit requirements, including project management, design, engineering, construction etc. Ensure communications devices/systems meet the requirements of the operations and safety cases for the asset facilities. Ensure systems comply with relevant regulation and performance standards. Review technical changes and MOC to telecommunications systems as related to site impact. Create telecommunications systems documentation (e.g. standard operating procedures, maintenance work instructions, documentation, engineering drawings, As-Built documentation, Compliance etc.) in accordance with standards and best practices. Ensuring adherence to all service management and MOC functions, such as incident, problem, change, capacity, and configuration management. Strong commitment to health, environment and safety practices.

Skills:Primary* Radio Telecommunications - Radio system VHF and UHF, Cambium Networks equipment, LTE, microwave, LTE, and antenna systems* CCNA or CCNP level network knowledgeSecondary* Install and configure Palo Alto firewall or similar firewall equipment* Knowledge of CCTV, PAGA systems* Working knowledge of telecommunications industry best practices of offshore and onshore system design and associated facilities.* Experience in working in mission-critical facilities or hazardous environments with an ability to adjust work tasks to be compliant with health and safety requirements as well as company work standards.

Must Have Experience:Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency to delivery results with intermediate networking concepts and infrastructure components:Required - Radio systems design, configuration and installation using 900 MHz, 2.4 & 5 GHz, point to point and point to multipoint. LTE cellular systems, Secure network design, Cisco routers, switches, access point and wireless LAN controllers, and Cisco SDN technologies. Routing and switching planning, design, and implementation.Nice to have - VPN and third-party connectivity configurations. Network data gathering tools, traffic analysis, network concepts from layer 2 through 7 including NAT and application identification. Analysis of syslogs on local devices and in Splunk.

Nice to Have:Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent network infrastructure engineering experience

Working knowledge of telecommunications industry best practices and cyber security trends. Knowledge of offshore and onshore telecommunications system design and associated facilities.2.
