Job Summary:

IT Veterans is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team. You must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

Job Details:

To be successful in this position you need to be collaborative and willing to work within a team. While you will need to be a self-starter completing tasks on your own, working together is critical in this role. You will be interfacing with the client and senior staff. Therefore, you should be articulate in your communications because your opinion matters. You will need to explain technical intricacies in a way that is easily understood. This position includes engineering/design, development of Bill of Materials, installation and configuration of equipment and software, technical documentation/drawings, operation and troubleshooting/restoral.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems (substitute 4 years additional relevant experience for a bachelor’s degree)

Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting commercial networking equipment and software

Expert understanding of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC), with an emphasis on the Mobile Access Capability Package (MA CP)

Proficient in at least 3 of the following:

Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.

Physical media (Cat5/5e/6/6a, fiber optics (singlemode and multimode), transceivers (GBIC, SFP, X2, etc.)

LAN switching (VLANs, Spanning Tree, 802.1q (Trunking), Port Aggregation)

Routing (Interior Gateway Protocols & Exterior Gateway Protocols)

OSPF

EIGRP

BGP

Static RoutingSubnetting (VLSM)

Access control lists

VPN: (Site to Site and Client based VPN), IPSec and SSL

DNS and DHCP

Certificate Authorities

Microsoft

ISC

SNMP

Troubleshoot and develop recommendations to resolve network problems such as bandwidth bottlenecks and server downtime.

802.11 (Wireless Standards)

Must be able to acquire and maintain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
