Corrections Officer

To perform care, custody and control of inmates in the Armstrong County Jail.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conducts booking procedures of newly committed detainees.Maintains and secures inmates' personal property.Maintains and documents accurate headcounts.Directs and monitors movement of inmates.Conducts searches on incoming inmates and prepares them for incarceration.Checks incoming mail, clothing and other items for contraband.Documents and maintains daily log of Jail activities.Observes inmate activities and observes any unusual behaviors or needs.Searches all areas of Jail for contraband.Issues clothing and housecleaning supplies.Supervises work detail.Interfaces with prisoners to determine their needs or problems.Patrols cell block areas and housing units.Other duties as assigned.
Part-time positions leading to full-time employment following successful completion of in-house training.
All applicants must be 18 years of age prior to application.
Full Time positions would be eligible for the County Benefit Package which includes:

Full-time Corrections Officers will receive an additional $0.50/hour upon successful completion of Department of Corrections (DOC) training.
