Our regular starting pay rate for this position is $15.50 per hour,** **however we have increased our pay by $2.00 per hour through May 1, 2021.** **The Core hours for this position are 6:00AM - 2:30PM or 9:00AM - 5:30PM, Monday - Friday.**At Johnstone Supply, its all about Cooperation. Visit our website, , for more information about our growing company.**Responsibilities for our Receiving & Shipping departments include:*** Receives product into the Texas Distribution Center by unloading trucks using a reach truck, forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand.* Fills store orders by picking orders according to section number, packing items into cartons and stacking them in a manner that minimizes shipping damage, entering items into scan gun, and completing necessary paperwork.* Documents the shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing necessary paperwork.* Prepares orders for shipment by: preparing trucks for shipments; palletizing and wrapping orders; loading pallets and pieces into trucks; placing packing list in last skid; and completing necessary paperwork.* Maintains current department accuracy and efficiency standards and follows department standard operating procedures.* Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current Distribution safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area by breaking down cardboard, picking up loose trash or boards, and keeping carts clean.* Ensures shipments received are in good condition and accurate by: inspecting freight for damage and signing freight bills; verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received; checking all shipments against packing lists; and completing necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies.* Ensures all required product has verified bar code labels and human readable Johnstone stock numbers by scanning products, printing labels, resolving labeling discrepancies, and completing necessary paperwork.* Stores checked-in products by stocking picking stock, filling bin boxes, facing cartons, checking for product mixing, and rotating product where needed.* Ensures products are readily available to order fillers by: monitoring stock on shelves or bins; replenishing picking stock from reserves; maintaining control of products in reserve stock area; and monitoring "Pull Tickets" and giving priority to Shipping department requests.* Maintains current department accuracy and efficiency standards and follows department standard operating procedures.* Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current Distribution safety rules, maintaining equipment, and maintaining a clean work area.**Position requirements:*** A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).* Demonstrated ability to operate equipment in a warehouse or distribution center environment.* Previous Material Handler/Warehouse experience highly preferred.* Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.* Handheld RF Scanner experience a plus.* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.* Ability to drive or learn to drive a forklift and electric pallet jack.* Ability to follow instructions and procedures.* Ability to organize and prioritize work.* Ability to attend to details.* Ability to work with others in a team-based environment.* Ability to complete routine paperwork.* Desire to support and meet the needs of customers, other employees, and the Cooperative as a whole.Johnstone Supply is strongly interested in hiring a great candidate that exhibits work behaviors & values that are conducive to building and maintaining a strong and effective company culture.
