Description

We are accepting applications for the Academic Accommodations Center (AAC)(formerly DSPS) Counselor Adjunct Applicant Pool. Adjunct pools are open on a fiscal year basis for continuous recruitment for department assignments. Please review application material requirements carefully to ensure successful submission.

The faculty assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college faculty locations. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of students in achieving their educational goals. Example of Duties

College of the Canyons is seeking adjunct faculty members in the Academic Accommodations Center (AAC). Applications will be considered for immediate and future eligibility into the Academic Accommodations Center Adjunct Applicant Pool.

We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration into the Applicant Pool. When no review date is listed for an Adjunct Instructor position, the position is open until filled. Your application will not be considered until all required documents have been received.

Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Counseling

OR

- Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling;

OR

-Master's degree in Counseling, Guidance Counseling, Student Personnel, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Education Counseling, Social Work, Career Development, Marriage and Family Therapy, Marriage, Family and Child Counseling,

OR -

Bachelor's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling and possession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT);

AND

- Either fifteen or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work specifically related to people with disabilities,

OR

-Completion of six semester units, or the equivalent of a graduate-level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in a post-secondary Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) Program or in a program dealing predominantly or exclusively with people with disabilities,

OR

-Two years of full-time experience, or the equivalent in one or more of the following:

(A) Counseling for students with disabilities; or

(B) Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities, or the equivalent.

Conditions of Employment

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.

Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at

$88.30

Positions are open until filled. The above position represents the anticipated need for the upcoming semester(s) or the applicant pool.
