JOB SUMMARY
The Azure Engineer will be responsible for assessing our IT infrastructure to help plan and deploy our ongoing cloud migration. This role will also oversee the migration process and design, maintain and monitor the new system, as well as configuring hybrid connectivity between on-site systems and the cloud environment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical skills and leadership ability, with the communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with other members of the IT team.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and securityDesign, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft AzureAnalyze existing operational standards, processes, and/orgovernance to identify and implement improvementsMigrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutionsManage security and access controls of cloud-based solutionsDevelop infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud-native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deploymentsDevelop and implement policy-driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data lossSupport cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernizedEnsure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standardsParticipate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address and resolve technical escalationsAbility to understand, speak (fluently), read, and write English and SpanishAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to multitask and work under pressureEffectively speaking before groups of customers or employeesAssume evolving duties and responsibilities of the positionWork all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities including, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed)Travel as requiredProvide coverage for other positions as requestedAbility to carry and lift boxes and/or other objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by managementPRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:
COMPUTER:
Ability to operate IBM-compatible personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Suite at an Expert level. Ability to operate AS400 is preferred, but not required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a combination of related education and experience.
