Director of Business Development – Ft. McMurray . This regional position is the primary business face of RTI to each client. All pricing proposals are issued by this person. A thorough understanding of consultative sales combined with a Process background and competitive urgency make this position a great fit for those who thrive on exceeding expectations while exemplifying RTI’s Mission and Core Behaviors. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain excellent relationships with various levels of client personnel who control vessel cleaning decisions. Create all pricing proposals for the territory; Pricing will be based upon the market value of the planning and cleaning technology with allowances for covering additional expenses (i.e. travel, etc.); Minimum corporate pricing targets must be achieved. Confirm the cleaning scope for each cleaning. Identify and track all client turnaround schedules, 18 months in advance, for the assigned territory. Be integrated in supporting the Ops planning meetings, scope changes and execution activities for all work awarded in the territory. Secure client purchase orders in a timely manner to assure that the RTI Operations team has enough advance notice to provide excellent service. Handle any accounts receivable, delay fee or holiday fee issues in the territory. Follow-up with clients to ensure that RTI’s cleaning met or exceeded their expectations. Finalize and present the Lessons Learned report(s) to the client’s key contacts. Follow-up with clients to obtain referrals, internal or external, for new business. Schedule and lead all sales presentations, working to position RTI as a preferred vendor. Through SITA training and other methods of learning, understand the RTI core cleaning processes in order to properly present the services to the clients. Know our strengths and limitations. Avoid proposing services that are outside our core scope of business without Technical and Management approval. Understand common industry piping circuits and equipment (PFD or P&ID interpretation) Execute small projects in the field on an as-needed basis. Actively practice all RTI Core Behaviors. Work in tandem with the DO for the area to ensure that clients receive prompt responses to their inquiries along with timely planning documents. Facilitate the timeline of deliverables. Perform other duties as required to support RTI’s business needs. Supervisory Responsibilities None Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (ChE, ME or BSBA preferred) Experience in consultative sales combined with strong presentation skills is a basic requirement. This position also requires a strong desire to build new relationships with multiple levels of personnel, thus cold calling experience is desired. Basic communication skills required include excellent grammar, spelling, enunciation, brevity and confidence in a group presentation setting. TWIC Card; Driver’s License Additional or Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Refinery or Chemical Plant processes is a strategic advantage. Working Conditions / Physical Demands This job requires in-plant meetings and also walk-arounds in the refinery / plant setting. During an actual cleaning application, this position requires lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing ladders and working 12-hour shifts. This job requires in-plant meetings and also walkarounds in the refinery / plant setting. Special PPE is required in all plant (unit) settings. This includes FR clothing, hard hat, hearing protection, work boots and safety glasses. An RTI office is provided for administrative work. Travel Requirements Limited. During the first year, primarily for training purposes, the DBD will travel more often to attend applications or meetings in other regions. This position typically requires up to 40 overnights per year.
