ROLE SUMMARY
The Guidewire Policy Center Architect plays a pivotal role in crafting and executing solutions with the platform's latest advancements. With an in-depth grasp of the new features, modules, and integration frameworks of version 10, the architect spearheads technical design, aligns it with business goals and IT strategies, and enhances our Guidewire ecosystem's functionality.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement robust, scalable solutions using Guidewire Policy Center v10 to meet business requirements.Translate intricate business requirements into technical solutions within the Policy Center framework.Conduct product modeling reviews, oversee technical design, and configuration for new product rollouts.Stay updated with the latest features of Guidewire Policy Center v10 and evaluate their relevance and utility for the organization.Uphold best practices in architecture and design within the Guidewire ecosystem.Customize and improve products, user interfaces, workflows, and business rules using Guidewire Studio.Utilize available accelerators to expedite development and reuse established architectural patterns.Oversee application configurations, releases, and software upgrade processes, both minor and major.Maintain development environments and manage coding branches effectively across various product lines.Provide mentorship to development teams, ensuring technical leadership, project allocation, and oversight.Coordinate with stakeholders and lead development teams, both onshore and offshore, to ensure timely delivery of solutions.Use project lifecycle management tools like TFS to maintain transparency in development activities.Collaborate closely with Project Management and Analysis teams for requirement understanding, scoping, and planning.Advise the QA team on potential impacts to facilitate adequate test case development.Work in partnership with Guidewire, third-party vendors, and other development teams for a seamless insurance platform.Recommend new Guidewire Policy Center v10 features for future adoption.Tackle complex technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and methodologies.Establish and govern engineering standards related to security, logging, alerting, coding, and more.Ensure GUnit test cases are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for optimal code coverage.Assist in scripting and automating deployments to reduce manual tasks.Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture and deployment diagrams and production runbooks.Manage production applications against KPIs and troubleshoot issues across deployment layers.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
At least 8 years of experience in Guidewire Policy Center development, including experience as a Technical Lead on at least three full-scale commercial policy product implementations.Demonstrated leadership and post-implementation ownership of Guidewire Policy Center products.A minimum of 8 years leading and managing onshore/offshore development teams for Guidewire product implementations.Over 10 years of Java development experience, with Guidewire Policy Center certification preferred.Expertise in Guidewire APIs, Product Designer, GX Model, and integrations.Proven experience with Guidewire Rating engine and configurations.Knowledge of Guidewire Renewal API and data migration strategies.Familiarity with ALM best practices for code versioning, integration, release management, and maintenance of Guidewire Policy Center products.Experience with Guidewire application partitioning and optimization for performance and scalability.Proficiency in secure software development practices and architectural standards specific to Guidewire configurations and integrations.Experienced with Agile SCRUM methodology and tools (TFS, Rally, JIRA, etc.) in a technical leadership capacity.Skilled in managing DevOps processes, including Builds, CI/CD Pipelines, and Version Control.GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Commercial P&C insurance knowledge is a plus.
