Cybersecurity Engineer II

to work on our client's site in

San Diego, CA.

This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity solutions to protect the organization's information systems. The Cybersecurity Engineer II will conduct vulnerability assessments, monitor network traffic, manage security infrastructure, and ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cybersecurity engineering and relevant certifications.Job Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions to safeguard the organization's information systems.Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential security risks.Monitor network traffic for unusual activities and respond promptly to security incidents.Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security infrastructure.Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies to ensure proactive security measures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle.Configure and manage security tools and software to enhance the organization's overall cybersecurity posture.Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity.Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards.Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent.3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering.Certification in Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I, Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I, or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level I as per DoD 8570.1M.Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.Experience with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.Proficiency in managing firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security infrastructure.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Must HaveActive

ClearanceProven experience in cybersecurity engineering.Relevant certifications in IAM, IAT, or IASAE Level I per DoD 8570.1M.Bachelor's degree in a related field.Strong knowledge of cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Nice to HaveAdvanced degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.Additional certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+).Experience with advanced security tools and software.Familiarity with cybersecurity regulations and standards applicable to government and commercial clients.Experience in conducting security awareness training programs.
