ResponsibilitiesAs a Data Governance SME, you will develop and deploy information management processes and procedures in accordance with Enterprise policies and standards.

You will work in a team environment and support a client Data Governance Council, serving as a liaison between technical and functional data roles, including Data Owners, Stewards, Curators, and business focused roles.

Responsibilities include:

Project execution, including but not limited to on-time deliverables that exceed customer expectations, project financial management, project resource management and development, and interfacing with various levels of customer representation (analysts, developers, directors, C-level leadership, GS-15, and SES)

Analyze current data architectures and operating environments and make recommendations for future functionality and enhancements

Support executive level briefings on data solution architecture, design and technology alternatives

Design, develop, implement, and sustain data standards, data models, and data governance policies and procedures as part of a broader enterprise data management program including, but not limited to:

Data cataloging and data flow/lineage visualization

Data quality framework, metrics, and adherence to data standards

Data stewardship

Metadata management

Data security and data user management, including equitable and appropriate data access

Data architecture

Communicating across varying data roles to solve cross-domain data governance issues

Using appropriate data governance, data management, data cataloging, or metadata management software or tools to organize and streamline data governance processes, procedures, and work-flows

Assist in the development and implementation of data-centric applications and integration services as needed to supplement development teams

Leverage a wide-range of big data and cloud technologies to architect solutions that deliver data faster and more accurately to decision-makers

QualificationsMINIMUM:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, or a related business or quantitative discipline (Master’s degree preferred)

Strong data governance background with deep knowledge of metadata management, data quality management, data integration or data management

Working knowledge of databases and database structures to enable articulating data concepts between business-focused, functional, and technical data users

6+ years of experience in data analysis, metadata management, data quality or a related field with 3+ years of experience in Project Management

Ability to evaluate business requirements and recommend solutions in the form of products and services

Ability to architect and design data-centric solutions

Experience with data architecture, data warehousing, and data governance

Experience with leading business process reengineering, business process assessment, or business architectural development

Experience with developing highly responsive data structures, metadata capture strategies, ontologies, and data dictionaries

Experience with leading and/or supporting data operations teams to develop architecture, policies, extract-transform-load (ETL) data pipelines, and data mode

Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals

Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users

Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision

Proven track-record of strong customer communications including feedback gathering, execution updates, and troubleshooting

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Relevant technology and/or data management certifications

Hands-on experience with industry leading data governance, data cataloging, data management, metadata management software/tools/platforms

Minimum clearance requirement: Ability and willingness to obtain a Secret clearance.
