Director Partnerships and Professional Studies

in the Division of Academic Affairs beginning July 1, 2024. This position may be filled by either a faculty member who receives course releases and a stipend in the summer months or it may be filled by a staff member. The position is open to St. Edward's University faculty and/or staff. This position will report to the Provost. St. Edward's is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission to educate the hearts and minds of a diverse student body that is deeply committed to social justice.

The successful candidate will serve to develop professional development activities for area business, community and professional leaders as well as work with the Departments of Marketing and Advancement to build partnerships with area companies, agencies, and organizations. This director will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic planning, and day-to-day oversight for these two areas. This will include collaborating with individuals from the Marketing Office as well as the Office of Institutional Development in response to the strategic plan to create Austin connectionsFor consideration, the candidate must meet the qualifications below:

Holds a master's degree in fields related to business, adult education, higher education, or leadership. Either experience in creating training programs or a PhD (or equivalent) is preferred.

Demonstrates passion and knowledge about the university's mission.

Possesses the capability to build partnerships with individuals in the community and/or brings a repository of connections in the region.

Has worked a minimum of 5 years with target population in higher education including project management, developing curriculum, planning programs, mentor and shepherd individuals who report to this position.

Ability to manage budget development and budget maintenance at both micro and macro levels.

Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Ability to work harmoniously with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.

Ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituents.

Working Conditions

Professional Studies will include the following:

Perform duties necessary to build relationships with areas business and industry personnel.

Supervise one half-time administrative coordinator.

Maintain an ongoing agenda of program initiatives for the office of Professional Studies.

Participate in professional development for increased knowledge in Professional Studies.

Oversee management of professional development certifications, records of completion, and payment processes.

Work with faculty to develop individualized, unique programs for university partners.

Support Community Partnerships consists of the following work conditions:

Identify community partners with whom to develop professional relationships with St. Edward's University for internship opportunities, training development, and program designs.

Assist in assessment of partnership outcomes as needed.

Work with Offices of Fellowships and Career Services to encourage students to apply for off-campus research and internship opportunities.

Work with the Office of Sponsored Programs to support proposals related to undergraduate research.

Coordinate university participation in the community to develop partnerships.

Participate as an ex-officio member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB)

Provide annual report on professional development activities to the Office of the Provost
