Mainframe CICS Engineer
for our premier client in
Chicago, Illinois .
Education and Experience "
A minimum of ten years working as a CICS Systems Programmer/Engineer.Knowledge of all CICS parameters that control performance in a CICSPlex environment.Knowledge of SMP/E, software upgrade and maintenance.Must have CPSM expereince.In depth knowledge of CICS SMF record structure and the CICS Performance Analyzer tool to gather statistics for tuning CICS regions.Experience with CICSPlex SM implementation & customization, dynamic transaction routing, etc.Ability to perform problem determination, dump analysis and performance tuning.Experienced with the CICS monitoring tools Sysview.Knowledge of Cobol to support application developers.Experience with Mainframe WebSphere MQ.
Desired/preferred:
Assembler and COBOL coding and knowledge of CICS Exits.Web application support in a CICS TS V5 environment.Knowledge of zOS facilities such as: APF, Linklist, VSAM, LPA, Coupling Facility.Experience with CICS Interdependency Analyzer tool.Working knowledge of the zOS & CICS Explorer.Knowledge of Natural language & Adabas.Prior Application programming experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities "
Must have strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge in CICS performance & tuning, debugging and dump analysis.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:Job Responsibilities:
The Mainframe CICS Systems Programmer is responsible for all phases of CICS engineering, system and software maintenance, and CICS related operation functions.In order to be considered for this role must be comfortable working with CICS (and MQ) in an enterprise scale Sysplex and CICSPlex environment.
