Description
SAIC is seeking a Communications Engineer to join our team. This exciting opportunity will be supporting ABMS family of systems within our Air Force and Combatant Command Business Group. The Communications Engineer will work across research, development, integration, and testing of communications systems of complex C2 systems. They will have knowledge of wired & wireless communications systems, to include; digital, microwave, WAN, LAN and fiber-optic networks.
Engage with stakeholders to analyze requirements, address communications network challenges, apply sound technology solutions, and verify the solution satisfies the requirements.
Independent reviews of communications system designs and their integration including analysis of alternatives, design reviews, and performance estimation
Developing and evaluating the various integrated communications systems and tactical datalinks in contested environments
Support planning, design, evaluation, modification, operation, maintenance and sustainment of complex analog and digital voice, data and video communications networks, systems and equipment using a variety of transport media.
Assess and diagnose the health of communications systems
Keep informed of and study currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to communications engineering
Generate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical or similar Engineering/STEM field with 14 years of related experience. A Master's and 12; PhD or JD and 9+ years.
US Citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance
Understanding of communications theory, link budgets, and communications and networking protocols
Experience with C++, Python, MATLAB, or other modeling and analysis tools
Interest in solving problems across multiple engineering disciplines to provide solutions to complex problems
Effective communication skills, collaboration, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
Strong systems engineering skills and familiarity with independent Verification & Validation (V&V) testing
Experience in RF & Digital Communications including
Modulation types
Error correction coding
Channel effects
Communications protocols
Antenna performance modeling
Digital Signal Processing
Software Defined Radios
Military & Commercial Satellite Systems
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
