The Warehouse Manager
Maintains receiving, and warehousing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security and safety procedures and protocols.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Plan / determine optimal utilization of warehouse workers and equipment to meet company goals.
Keeping a clean and organized warehouse. Coordinate warehouse activities with Inventory, and Operations Managers. Hire, train, and evaluate warehouse workers; monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements. Identify and utilize methods in the warehouse process to become more efficient and effective (reducing waste, using lean). Direct corrections (corrective action) of any warehouse problems that may arise; work with Operations Managers / Directors in development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Schedule department staff to maximize efficiency while limiting the amount of overtime. Print picklist and assign picking duties as necessary. Update picklist and discuss any shortages with Inventory Manager. Assign workers to do inventory spot counts when required, to maintain accurate inventory levels. Takes photos of outbound freight prior to departure and upload them into the corresponding job team in Microsoft Teams. Assign workers to inventory all inbound freight, completing “Return to stock” paperwork and report this information to Inventory Manager. Report any, and all, damaged materials to Inventory Manager. Maintain understanding of current fabrication job ticket numbers to ensure materials are picked for corresponding pick lists. Conduct and properly document weekly safety meetings. Approve and document all attendance requirements and time off request. Monitor, correct and approve payroll hours weekly, limiting overtime. Expense all payroll hours to jobs being worked on throughout the week. Perform yearly evaluations for direct reports. Perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of successful hands on experience in warehouse operations in a lead or supervisory capacity Must pass background check and drug screening requirements Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases Leadership skills and ability manage staff Strong decision making and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills Inventory management skills Able to perform well under pressure Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to shifting priorities Computer and internet fluency Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time Able to lift-up to 75Ibs Work Environment The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Is exposed to excessive noise Is around moving machinery Is exposed to dust Wearing of safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
