SUMMARY OF POSITION

Perform a variety of functions to move supplies, materials, and equipment to and from receiving, shipping, and storage areas and to all manufacturing areas of the plant. The Material Handler is responsible for supplying a production line with needed materials and transporting materials and finished products through the facility using material handling equipment. You will also work with other warehouse personnel to ensure inventory is correctly labeled, located, and secured.

May perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Warehouse Ops Manager.Works integrally with other employees and independently.

WORK REQUIREMENTSLocate, pick, move and store material and equipment according to established procedures, both written and verbalOperates and maintains various material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and utility carts.Locate needed materials for work orders in various Departments and deliver to the accurate locations verifying items listed on production orders.Receive, count, visually inspect, and verify parts numbers on supplies, material, and equipment. Search for parts not found in storage area.Understand and follow all necessary material handling procedures and safety guidelines consistently.Develop complete understanding of the facility's storage plan and methods.Reads work orders, pick lists, or requisitions to process items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.Accurately sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in bins.Cross-trains in other departments as needed for the business.Check workstations of assigned department for shortage or near shortage of parts. Supply workstations as requested by operators or as needed.Check part pieces and report defective conditions to Supervisor and/or lead person.Identify part pieces, prepare, and maintain productions records as directed by Supervisor and/or Manufacturing information.Exercise great caution and always maintain alertness when operating forklift to avoid injury to pedestrians, other drivers, self, and damage to materials.Stage all material for the fabrication teams in accordance with production procedure.Remove pallets and other packing materials from production areas and dispose of them properly.Closely work with other production personnel to ensure smooth, effective, and profitable operations.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.Will be required to keep shop and work area clean by performing daily housekeeping duties.Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

2 or more years' experience driving a forklift required.Proven demonstration of safe operation of forklift and other power moving equipmentMulti-Task ProficientInventory ControlAttention to DetailAbility to work effectively with fellow employees.Must be able to follow all EHSS policies and procedures.Must be able to lift 50 lbs.This is a "safety sensitive" position.
