Description
SSI is seeking a Data Science Professional to provide support for our NAVAIR customer in Lexington Park/Patuxent River, MD. This is a full-time position. Telework will be permitted, however there is a requirement to attend onsite meetings and briefings at least one time per week. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research, design, and develop user-centric interactive reports, dashboards, and visualization solutions that provide business insights to branch decision makers using Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI. Utilize scientific tools, including: QLIK, Tableau, R, Python, SQL and other programming and dashboarding utilities.Analyze platforms and creating algorithms to detect failures within the aircraft systemDesign, build, integrate, and manage the architecture or framework used in various data science projects to maintain flow of data between servers and applicationsGather, clean, preprocess, and analyze relevant data from various sources to support modeling and decision-making. Apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques to extract insights and validate model assumptions. Write code and develop scripts to automate data transmission between different data sources or environmentsApply knowledge of Machine learning, Natural language processing and other programming techniques, to the collection, processing, compilation, computation, analysis, editing, and presentation of statistical dataAnalyze historical data and trends to forecast or predict future outcomes and optimize the model's outputsRequirements
Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance, must be a U.S. CitizenBS degree in Data Science/Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics (desired), engineering/Operations Research Analyst (acceptable)Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL, with a minimum of 7+ years of experienceProficiency in BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI) with a minimum of 3-5+ years of experienceProficiency in JIRA and GitLab with a minimum of 5+ years of experienceStrong analytical and critical thinking skills with high level problem solving and interpersonal skillsStrong oral and written communication skills; including presentation skills capable of defending a technical position and/or recommendation.Self-directed team player with proven ability to deliver tasks timely and efficiently, and a demonstrated ability to interact professionally with all levels of managementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in a related fieldFamiliarity with aviation data with experience in aerospace and/or defense industriesExperience with JAVA and front-end developmentAdvanced Tableau data visualization experienceScrum master or lead experienced or certified
