Job Description

Lara Health is a leading platform for virtual and remote care. Launched in 2020, we have since experienced fast growth in customer acquisition and revenue, enjoying the rare opportunity to bootstrap and reach profitability without a major funding (yet). Due to our rapid growth, stellar client retention (98.8% client retention to date) and an exciting roadmap, we are adding to our engineering team while preparing for a round of funding to further accelerate our growth.

We're searching for a

Lead Software Engineer

to help us reach our ambitious goals. Working closely with the C-level (CEO) to ensure that the technology vision is aligned with the business objectives, you will work as a member of the team at every stage of software development life cycle: designing solutions, writing and testing application code and finally managing the deployment (with automated pipeline). You'll provide input and influence discussions around best practices and new technologies, helping us to develop an effective basis for future developments.

This role will start as a part-time position (8 hours a week), with flexible working hours. The candidate must be located and authorized to work in the USA. Transition to a full-time role is expected post funding.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:

Maintain, enhance and upgrade of our existing product platformBuild high performance internal and external APIsModern service architecture fully built on AWS stackData pipeline for gathering and processing high volume of the data collected from global network of Bluetooth and GSM IoT sensors - including customer electronicsMachine Learning/AI platform research and implementationManage a team of outsourced developers and oversee their workWhat you'll do:

Work closely with the C-level (CEO) to ensure that the technology vision is aligned with the business objectivesOwn the architecture across the core application to ensure a secure, stable, and scalable productProvide direction based on the latest technology developments in the space, keeping up to date with advancements in software development, and AI to ensure the competitive advantage of the companyBe the central stakeholder in negotiations with partners and third parties with regard to platform integrations, and manage those integrationsDefine the engineering strategy, articulate it to internal and external stakeholders (including the shareholders of the company), and implement it from launch to scaleBuild, scale, and support the engineering team, manage external members and foster a strong tech culture in that team and the wider company, and embrace an agile and iterative approachWhat you'll need:

You have significant experience in software architecture and building digital products from early-stage through to scaling and maturityYou have an entrepreneurial mindset that is flexible, experimental, and resourcefulYou have the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders through clear and concise written and verbal communicationYou have a track-record of building, leading and scaling high performing engineering teamsGood understanding of building a highly secured, HIPAA compliant productWe're looking for candidates with:

5+ years experience in software development, full stack engineerProficient in programming using C#, building API powered solutionsJavascript, familiarity with Net Core and AngularStrong understanding of service architecture and object-oriented programmingSkills for writing reusable librariesExperience with at least few common frameworks and libraries (e.g. flask, pyramid, bottle, celery, tornado, pandas...)Familiarity with API gateways, configuration, rate limitingExperience with client-server architecture using REST and GraphQL protocolsGood knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (DynamoDB, PostgreSQL)Building and deploying cloud native solution with AWSUnderstanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery(CI/CD) tools and systems (ideally if you can participate in continuous improvement of our delivery pipeline)Proficiency in code versioning tools such as Git, TFS
