thencome join us!***This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus***Job Description:The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real- time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the- shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.The Level 3 Software Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirementsDebug existing software and correct defectsProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new featuresIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environmentsDevelop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositoriesApplies knowledge of ITOM, ITSM, HRSD, CSM and/or Service Portal.Codes with programming languages and databases including HTML, CSS, JavaScript.Write or review software and system documentationServe as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular projectDesign or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queriesDevelop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standardsAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software componentsDevelop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areasModify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performanceDesign, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designDesign or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team productsImplement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsOversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular projectConfer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfacesCoordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are metInteracts with project customers and stakeholders to report project status and manage subsystems requirements.Researches, evaluates, and assesses software tools and technologies, such as Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), Government-off-the-shelf (GOTS), Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), and incorporates those findings into the overall software system design.Serve as the technical lead of multiple software development teamsSelect the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineeringRecommend new technologies and processes for complex software projectsEnsure quality control of all developed and modified softwareDelegate programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitor their performance
Qualifications:Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. A bachelor's degree and two (2) additional years of SWE experience OR six (6) additional years of SWE experience may be substituted for a master's degree.Fifteen (15) years of applicable design and development experience is required.Twelve (12) years direct experience leading teams of software design and development for collection systems and components is required.Experience creating and implementing scripts, business rules, policies, ACLs and otherwise configure or modify ServiceNow applications to meet requirementsExperience providing advanced support for ServiceNow by troubleshooting, implementing bug fixes and performing root cause analysisExperience integrating third-party software and APIs with ServiceNow using REST and SOAPExperience coding in scripting languages (i.e.: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, JSON or other languages used in ServiceNow)Five (5) years experience developing on and administration of the ServiceNow Platform is required
Certifications Required:CWIP IAT Level 2 Required.ServiceNow System Administrator certification OR ServiceNow Application Developer certification is required.ITILv3, ITILv4, or ITILv5 Certification at any level will meet the requirement, i.e., Foundation, Managing Professionals, Strategic Leaders, etc.
