We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Data Architect at you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data architecture to support the organization's strategic objectives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data infrastructure and solutions meet both current and future business needs.

Responsibilities:

Data Governance and Compliance:

Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Architecture team and the Data, Analytics and AI Community of Practice to develop patterns and standards for data management.Establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity, privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address data governance requirements specific to the insurance industry.Data Strategy and Roadmap:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive data strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives and industry trends.Drive initiatives to enhance data architecture capabilities, including data warehousing, data lakes, and real-time analytics.Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Architecture and Platform teams to identify new and enhanced capabilities for the Modern Data Platform roadmap.Data Security and Risk Management:

Implement robust data security measures and protocols to protect sensitive information and mitigate data-related risks.Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements.Data Collaboration and Communication:

Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure alignment on data architecture initiatives and priorities.Serve as a subject matter expert on data architecture topics, providing guidance and support to stakeholders across the organization.Serve as an advocate within the Data, Analytics and AI Community of Practice for common data products that can be leveraged across multiple organizations.Data Analytics and Insights:

Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to design and implement analytics solutions that enable business intelligence and predictive analytics.Drive initiatives to democratize data access and promote self-service analytics capabilities across the organization.Vendor Management:

Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners providing data-related services and solutions.Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure vendor compliance with organizational standards.Continuous Learning and Innovation:

Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends in data management, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI).Champion innovation and continuous improvement initiatives related to data architecture and analytics within the organization.Required:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field; master's degree preferred.Proven experience (5 years) as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or in a similar role within the insurance industry or financial services sector.Strong proficiency in data modeling principles and techniques (e.g., ERD, dimensional modeling).Expertise in database design and development using relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB).Hands-on experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data/lake house technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Databricks) is highly desirable.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.What we offer:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
