Individuals who do not meet CMS vaccination requirements are not eligible and should not apply for this position but are encouraged to apply for other non-healthcare positions at UT Southwestern for which they qualify.Job SummaryUT Southwestern has an opening for the position of a Senior Driver, Full-Time.**Job Duties*** Assists Supervisor in day-to-day transportation to ensure efficient and effective operations.* Provides limited daily supervision of drivers. Monitors drivers to ensure proper and consistent performance of duties.* Provides training to drivers which includes, but is not limited to, route training, usage of equipment and shuttle bus, etc.* Receives direction from the Supervisor concerning the activities of the drivers assigned to the AM/PM shift.* Operates van or mini-bus for transportation of employees and visitors on scheduled route connecting on-campus and off-campus locations.* Picks-up and delivers mail, packages, drugs, and supplies to off-campus locations on assigned route.* Learns multiple routes and may fill in on an as needed basis.* In outpatient clinic, transports patients to specialty care units and agencies within cooperative system.* Maintains vehicle operating records and reports needed maintenance and repairs.* Performs minor and routine maintenance such as refueling, ensuring proper tire pressure, and checking oil, water, and batteries periodically.* Acts as a backup of operations for Supervisor and Manager as needed.* May assist in completing annual employee performance evaluations.* May assist in scheduling work, monitoring projects, and ensuring route coverage.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Experience and Education*** High school diploma or GED required.* Four (4) years full-time paid experience in operation of various types of motor vehicles, such as vans, mini-buses, station wagons, etc.* A Commercial Driver License (CDL) is required for operating vehicles weighing 26,001 pounds or more.* If incumbent carries 14 or more passengers (including driver), a Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement is required.To learn more about the benefits UT Southwestern offers visitFor COVID-19 vaccine information, applicants should visitFor general COVID-19 information, applicants should visitThis position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
