We are looking for an AWS/Windows Engineer (strong AWS experience) from a large environment. Should be able to handle Sysadmin, Scripting automation (Terraform, Powershell) and be a good facilitator across managed service providers.
Onsite in West Houston, Direct Hire – must be eligible to work without sponsorship
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining platform resources (infrastructure, networking, infrastructure as code). The platform engineer will be required to perform application, server, database maintenance, and data analysis as well as creating health and monitoring reports.
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will also be an active partner in working with the business to provide value through technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting core business applications including application servers, associated hardware or endpoints, and databases.
Responsible for installing and configuring software as required.
Responsible for performing system maintenance, monitoring system activity, gathering system statistics, follow up on reported errors and alarms.
Responsible for providing after-hours on call support for production emergencies and escalating issues.
Proactively analyzes system for finding root cause of issues as well as analyzing existing and new use case configurations
Responsible for maintaining and improving all application and database monitoring
Proactively seeks systems improvements by performing regular performance monitoring and capacity analysis; recommend systems upgrades and hardening as appropriate.
Responsible for documenting all issues and resolution steps using the help desk ticketing system.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience providing AWS cloud infrastructure technical support
Cloud Best Practices and proven experience
Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code (IaC) experience
Boomi or similar integration platform experience
Strong scripting/automation experience
Container and Container platform experience (i.e. Kubernetes or similar)
API Management experience (i.e. Apigee or similar)
