Vast is looking for a

Staff Software Engineer, Flight Infrastructure and Simulation

reporting to the

Senior Manager, Flight Software Architecture

to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time,

exempt

position located in our

Long Beach

location.

Responsibilities:

Help design, and implement software to support Flight Systems, and SITL (software in the loop) systemsWork with subject matter experts to integrate simulation models and with various devices for hardware in the loop systemsWork across the software department and company to establish requirementsDevelop unit and integrated tests, and establish continuous integration framework for flight and ground softwareMinimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or other engineering discipline8+ years of experience coding in C++Strong understanding of version control systemsStrong grasp of networking conceptsPreferred Skills & Experience:

Experience writing software for safety-critical applicationsProficient in working within a continuous build and test environmentExperience working in a Linux environmentExperience in network programmingHands-on experience with TCP/IPUnderstanding of Linux networking configurationsFamiliarity with the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)

Salary Range: California

$155,000-$235,000 USD

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.
