ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a Spatial Database Administrator is responsible for the planning, development, monitoring, performance, integrity, and security of spatial databases that comprise project based and organizational Geodata assets as well as troubleshooting issues on behalf of the users. This position is responsible for updating and enhancing database systems internally at ENTRUST as well as within client systems that house and support Geodata. This includes building and/or implementing automated tools to ensure data integrity and quality controls are employed. They oversee management and maintenance of Geodata and are involved in both logical, and detailed database design as well as the design and maintenance of standards related to data entry, updating and version control. The database administrator works with users to implement data standards and quality assurance programs by creating and updating a data framework including dictionary and automated data validation processes.

The Spatial Database Administrator will work closely with other members of IT, GIS administrators, project managers, and developers and supports internal activity as well as consults directly with clients. This position should expect to leverage an ability to program in python and SQL in addition to a strong background in supporting SQL Server as a power user and administrator, especially as it pertains to Esri Enterprise Geodatabases (SDE, or Spatial Database Engine). This role functions as the primary practitioner and coach on the team to grow the capabilities of other engineers in the organization. They are responsible for driving new initiatives, will conduct POC's and evaluate other products for seamless integration. Additional tasks will include miscellaneous R&D, training, system monitoring, technical documentation, and participation in network architecture discussions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Esri ArcGIS geodatabases.

Ensuring the performance, security, and development of Geodata Solutions

Manage and support Geodata integrations with other IT systems.

Ensure Geodata availability, stability, flexibility, and scalability.

Modify database structures and designs as appropriate.

Coordinate with project database administrators and users to troubleshoot and resolve Enterprise Geodatabase issues promptly.

Monitor relational databases to ensure optimum performance and implement required improvements to database structures and processes.

Creation of spatial data structures in accordance with client and system requirements

Maintenance and development of database systems on Esri ArcGIS technology

Preparation and implementation of performance tests

Realization of service windows and production systems implementation windows

Monitoring of support notifications and passing them for verification in the team

Plan and execute the migration of Geodata

Analysis and recommendation of new Geodata technological solutions

Creating technical documentation for Geodata projects

Cooperation with designers, programmers, and testers in the implementation of GIS solutions

Work under the guidance of the Digital Transformation Manager for project assignments.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is required in GIS, Computer Science, or closely related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position

Strong understanding of spatial data concepts, including projections and spatial analysis tools.

Experience with database management with Esri ArcGIS technology.

Knowledge of Enterprise GIS solutions (ArcGIS Server, GeoServer)

Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems

Ability to develop geospatial tools and dashboards to assist the team.

Experience in administering database backups, recovery, monitoring, optimization, installation, configuration, and upgrading.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Esri geodatabases

Basic knowledge of web server configurations and deployment

Experience in the utilities industry (energy, pipelines, electrical)

Knowledge of the Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise and Desktop GIS solutions

Knowledge of Esri’s Utility Network

Knowledge of python

Experience working with distributed systems and remote users.

Knowledge of virtualization

Independence in the implementation of assigned tasks, as well as teamwork skills

Analytical thinking and technical problem-solving skills

Desire and willingness to learn and develop professionally in the field of GIS.

Knowledge of the English language and enabling communication with English-speaking clients

Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment.
