About the Role

The Attorney for Legal Questions and Answers (Q&A) will lead a team of paralegals to provide accurate, effective, and timely legal information to Rocket Lawyer members and customers. As a leader within Rocket Legal Professional Services (RLPS), they will leverage Rocket Lawyer's innovative technology and operational efficiency to reduce fulfillment costs while enhancing quality and responsiveness.

The Attorney for Legal Q&A will set a high standard for the team. At an organizational level, the Attorney for Legal Q&A will participate in programs that are innovating the use of alternative business structures and other regulatory reforms to expand access to justice. Responsibilities
  • Answer legal questions from Rocket Lawyer customers and provide oversight of attorneys and paralegals answering questions from Rocket Lawyer customers
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate the performance of paralegals serving Rocket Lawyer's clients
  • Help manage innovative programs that expand the ability to provide direct legal services. This may include drafting and tracking applications for Rocket Lawyer participation in the innovative programs, providing progress reports, and communicating with government agencies and representatives
  • Help design onboarding programs that ensure positive, enthusiasm-building learning experiences for legal professionals who join the RLPS team
  • Help develop and provide regular training and educational activities to ensure high levels of competency for the Legal Q&A team
  • Track the performance of legal services to ensure all key business metrics are met or exceeded
  • Work cross-functionally with Rocket Lawyer colleagues to ensure that professional legal services are supported with solid customer experiences on all Rocket Lawyer platforms and applications
  • Work collaboratively with the Rocket Lawyer Operations teams to ensure prompt and effective resolution of legal concerns raised by Rocket Lawyer customers and prospective customers
  • Help develop talent management programs that retain top-performing legal professionals
  • Oversee documentation and credential management of Legal Q&A paralegals, both when newly hired and annually
  • Persistently analyze the effectiveness of RLPS programs, using feedback from both customers and staff
  • Ensure compliance with applicable internal processes
  • Provide thoughtful and meaningful input on departmental and organizational goals
  • Participate in or lead other projects as needed by Rocket Lawyer and RLPS leaders

Requirements
  • Graduate of an American Bar Association-approved law school
  • Licensed attorney in good standing with an impeccable reputation for integrity
  • 3+ years experience as a licensed attorney
  • Experience working at a small law firm (5 attorneys or less) or as a solo practitioner
  • Generalist attorney, comfortable with providing legal information to a wide variety of customers across a broad area of legal categories
  • Attorney comfortable with business-oriented legal questions (e.g. business formation, contracts, compliance, etc).
  • Capacity to remotely lead a staff of legal professionals
  • Ability to build trust, foster strong working relationships, and collaboratively work with stakeholders of all levels to generate positive outcomes
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a concise and compelling manner
  • A strong work ethic with disciplined execution skills
