The
Group Sales
Account Executive will be responsible for working with the Group & Team Sales Director, Director, Special Events, Sport Departments, Outreach Office, Operations, Events, Business Development and customers to coordinate corporate, institute, educational and non-sport groups in selling hotel rooms, educational sessions/training and catering business.. Duties include outbound sales, customer account management, sales operational support and project-based work for the achievement of revenue generation, and long-term goals in line with IMG Performance/Academy’s vision and values. This includes the generation of new business, retention of existing business and developing new product and service offerings as campus and facilities grow. This individual will work primarily with the Legacy Hotel, Outreach, Marketing, Sports, Business Development, and Events departments.
Position Responsibilities
Achieve sales targets as set by the Director of Sales – Group & Events
Create and maintain accurate corporate business pipeline for a minimum of the next 24 months
Facilitate internal communication between Group & Team Sales Director, Hotel General Manager, and Director of Special Events to facilitate customers’ needs by streamlining processes and working collectively to reach sales goals
Assist in verifying and tracking contracts from distribution through fulfillment
Responsible for the communication of financial status and expectations to the customer, from booking date through reservation
Expertise in sales software (Microsoft CRM), hotel management system (OPERA) and venue scheduling software (Venue Ops); ability to use software to its maximum capability including but not limited to producing reports, data entry, data integrity and data qualification
Complete any projects assigned by the Director of Group Sales including, weekly and monthly reports, data entry, prospect mailings, generation of sales tools, and other functions
Prospecting and soliciting organizations from around the world to use IMG Academy’s lodging, facilities and footprint
Collaborating with professional and educational organizations to relocate certification programs and continuing education classes/events to IMG Academy
Understand the flow of Academy Business to target specific groups during overall periods of need
Partner with internal groups to capture sales for corporate retreats, training seminars, etc.
Generate awareness through direct phone sales, in-person sales calls, tradeshows, networking groups, and all other forms of peer-to-peer engagement with client stakeholders, etc.
Under direction from the Director of Group Sales, negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while attaining customer needs.
Demonstrate technical selling skills, communication and product knowledge of IMG Academy
Assist in the operational delivery of hosting corporate groups on campus
Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Business, Hospitality or related field or equivalent experience
3+ years of Corporate Group sales experience, preferably in hotel or convention setting.
Experience in dealing with vendors and operators in the travel industry
Excellent customer service skills
Experience with cold calling, following up on leads and generating pipelines
Strong decision making, negotiation and problem solving skills
Proficiency with MS Office and database creation/management
Experience with budgets and expense oversight
Familiar with legal documents
Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
Master’s degree in sports management, hospitality, business or marketing
Developed contact rolodex to immediately begin prospecting and active sales conversations.
Experience in dealing with international clientele
Bilingual
