Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 73,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. CAMBA operates six family homeless shelters funded by New York City Department of Homeless Services. Each shelter offers clients a supportive, structured therapeutic, safe, and drug-free facility. CAMBA’s Flagstone Family Center provides comprehensive case management services to 158 families who are in a Tier II transitional residence program for homeless families. CAMBA’s The Kensington Family Shelter provides comprehensive case management services to 64 families who are in a transitional residence program for homeless families. CAMBA’s The Kings Inn Family Shelter provides comprehensive case management services to 100 families who are in a transitional residence program for homeless families. CAMBA’s The Landing Family Shelter provides comprehensive case management services to 169 families who are in a transitional residence program for homeless families. CAMBA’s Park Avenue Family Shelter provides comprehensive case management services to 63 families who are in a transitional residence program for homeless families. CAMBA’s Evergreen Residence provides comprehensive case management services to 51 families in a transitional residence program for homeless families.

Position: LMSW Consultant

Reports To: Senior Vice President of Family Shelter Services

Location: All work is to be done remotely via Zoom, phone, or utilizing a telecommunicating platform to engage the clients and work with the programs

What The LMSW Consultant Does:

Complete psychiatric evaluations that assess and diagnose clients for mental health, behavioral, emotional, or addiction disorders. Works closely with the different shelter teams to schedule and complete the psychiatric evaluation. Weekly hours will vary depending on the need of the program.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) or Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), License must be current and issued by NYSED.

Preferable 2 years of experience with administrating and documenting psychiatric evaluations

Requires the ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently with little direction. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information

Document and report on findings and outcomes with all client interactions

Strong computer skills

Display strong theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and appropriate treatment and provide appropriate referrals and follow-up when needed

Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with the different social service teams at the shelters and with clients

Must be willing to travel to different site locations in different boroughs

Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred

Compensation: $50.00 hourly

When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
