Under the general direction of the Academic Advisor Supervisor, the Academic Advisor is responsible for the coordination of the Undeclared program and provides fundamental academic advising to current undergraduate students and prospective students, primarily Undeclared, Pre-Business, and students seeking readmission. Serves as the coordinator for the creation and implementation of college level programming, including the development and coordination of programs designed to enhance academic advising to targeted populations with specialized needs. Coordinates the CHASS communication cycle and is the primary liaison to CHASS First for the Undeclared program. The Academic Advisor uses principles of developmental academic advising and knowledge of teaching and learning theory to promote academic, career and life goals in an effort to support student retention, timeliness to degree, academic success, as well as intellectual and personal development. Academic advising is the primary area of work and responsibility comprised of academic advising, program development and implementation, and other programmatic support duties. Serves as liaison to department academic advisors in assigned departments.

The full salary range for the Student Academic Advisor 3 is $56,000 - $96,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
