BASIC FUNCTION: Provides per diem (as needed) substance use counseling in a long-term residential substance use treatment program, which operates within the therapeutic community model.

MAJOR DUTIES:Counsels clients, writes treatment plans, assesses client progress and recommends needed services such as HIV and vocational counseling referrals and parenting classes.Teaches clients how to manage stress and circumstances affecting their lives.Case Management of legal reports, court letters, EAP, and/or educational assistance.Collaborate with Vocational staff to integrate vocational rehabilitation into overall treatment process.Recommend clients for consultations as appropriate (i.e. psychological or psychiatric).Participates in assessing clients in weekly staff meetings and in a multi-disciplinary team setting.Assists other clinical staff by providing information necessary to assess clients and collaborate on treatment planning.Obtains, monitors and integrates into treatment planning all urinalysis data as directed by supervisor.Completes in-service and other trainingsFills in for other Counselors who may be on leave as needed.In Residential programs, conducts room inspections to assure cleanliness and adherence to program rules and regulations.Performs other duties as requested or assigned.QUALIFICATION - EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

CASAC and 2 years of experience requiredKnowledge of substance use treatment including Methadone detoxification and withdrawal symptoms.Must be multi-culturally sensitive to the needs of clients in treatment.

SCHEDULE: Per diem/ flex Day (8am-4pm) or Evening (2pm-10pm) available

Per diem Rate: $30-$30 per hour
