POSITION:
Climate Culture Coach
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a Professional Educator License valid in Illinois.
The Climate Culture Coach will:
Lead the effort to build and maintain a strong, positive achievement-oriented school culture that nurtures, inspires and empowers students to become successful.Work closely with teachers, students, and parents to provide positive behavior supports and interventionsDevelop, enhance and provide support for the implementation of a school-wide Restorative Justice Practices utilizing PBIS framework, MTSS Supports, Peace Circles and Peer Mediation
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and oversee all activities related to "Peer Court" including training, selection of peer court, parent contact, review of problem behavior and monitoring tasks.Conduct restorative circles with students, whole classes and teachers with challenging students.Facilitate Conflict Resolution with both teacher/student and student/student.Conduct motivational interviewing (an approach emphasizing student or teacher center conversation to elicit behavior change and ambivalence)Provide teacher support with tips for classroom management, community building circles and room environment support.Provide Tier III Peace Circle Coaching involving Central office administration, building level administration, students, parents, and any other stakeholder on a scheduled date and time.Work with building level administration to come up with plans for behavior change
