PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Support daily procurement activities, manage supplier relationships and on-time delivery, focus on building a cost effective on-demand supply chain. Maintain customer service by managing inventory levels which support the production plan, all while adhering to budgetary limitations that are best for the company. Organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, purchased components, and manufacturing/maintenance supplies from global suppliers. Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness.Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules.

Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.Proactively report product and material availability/quality issues.Analyze MRP results, and determine if the plan reflects a logical procurement plan.Monitor the appropriate targeted inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of components and/or raw materials are on hand to avoid out of stocks.Manage the ramp up of new materials and the obsolescence of legacy items.Select new products for purchase to support new products team or manufacturing requests. Arrange for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintains close coordination with engineering/quality to ensure timely execution of product inspection and sourcing activities.Evaluate exchange rates, market prices and trends, and apply to procuring product.Resolve invoice discrepancies by working with finance, receiving and the supplier.Communicate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between W.R. Case and suppliers.Participates and/or leads MRB meetings to resolve quality issues working with both internal and external resources.Visit suppliers’ facilities assisting in the resolution of production, design, quality and/or delivery problems or to qualify them as a new source.Review internal and external warehouses to determine if material on hand is sufficient, and resolve any outside inventory discrepancies.Lead teams, meetings, and proposals to assist in procurement projects.Purchase clothing, promotional, and accessory items for Case related special events.Periodic travel required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years’ experience in a related field required.Astute analytical, planning and organizational skills.Effective negotiating skills.Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written).Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) required.Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of Microsoft AX/D365 operating system a plus.
