Job Description

ASRC Federal Technical Services (ASTS) is seeking an

Entry-Level Software Engineer

(with an Engineering degree (computer engineering, electrical engineering) that will providesoftware development on the FAA Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program.

Provide real-time design, development, testing and interfacing of software and computer hardware systems using programming languages such a C, C++ , Java, XML, Shell scripting, Linux/Unix and other technologies.Provide software adaptation, analysis, design/development, testing, and system integration for the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program.

Will work specifically with the TFDM Software Development Team using C/C++, Java, XML, Javascript, shell scripting, database concepts (Postgres and/or Oracle), GIS Tools, Red Hat Linux, Ada, Redmine, Git, and various homegrown tools. TFDM Lab assignments and Data Collection is essential.Perform Data collection, Software Installations, and Workstation BackupPerform adaptation/software analysis and implement code fixes, adaptation changes, and new functionalityPerform peer/code reviewsWill work individually and within a group/team

Required:

A Bachelor of Science in an

Engineering discipline (Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering etc.) is required . Computer Science Majors are not accepted for this Engineering labor category.Coursework that includes knowledge in C, C++, Java, SML, Shell Scripting, and Java Script.Coursework that rendered foundational understand of Database Concepts.Coursework in Operating Systems - specifically UNIX/LINUXExcellentoral and written communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced and challenging environmentAda, Perl Scripting, Python, Geographic Information System (GIS) Tools, and Red Hat Linux. is plus but not required; aptitude to learn these technologies is required.Git (or another configuration management tool), and proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel)Coursework or ability in these technologies is a plus: HTML/XHTML, QT, JSON and SQLPermanent Residency or US Citizenship required for FAA background check/clearance. Must have resided in the US for the last 3 years.
