The APG Beacon youth leadership position will build curriculum that focuses on independent learning projects, social and emotional awareness activities, leadership and planning skills through student-led activity days, written and oral communication skills, independent living skills, interview preparedness, outdoor/active days, high school/college prep, and mentorship to other individuals.Benefits:Compensation: $24-$26 /hour DOENon-Exempt / Full Time, 30-35 hours a weekSchedule: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 10pm-4pm; Wed 10am - 4pmPaid BACR HolidaysEmployee assistance program, dental, vision, wellness program, life insurance, flexible spending account, commuter benefits, 403b, pet insurance, Wellhub/Gympass.Medical insurance (based on total weekly hours)Minimum Requirements:Associate Degree OR 48 or more college units OR pass the Instructional Aide examMust pass a criminal background check and TB test clearanceAble to work every day during after school hours and commit to a full academic school year required for the positionGeneral knowledge base of core elementary and middle school subjectsStrong classroom and behavioral management skillsMust be able to work independently and as part of a teamMust be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community partners, and after-school and school day-staffMust maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of integrityAbility to lift and carry 25 poundsAbility to travel to required meetings and must have a clean driving record and insurance if using personal vehicleAbility to work with Excel/Microsoft Office and Web-based programsAbility to perform basic administrative tasks and keep detailed recordsAbility to commit to a full Academic YearA commitment to BACR’s Mission, Organizational Values and Best PracticesAn ability to maintain goals and priorities when dealing with varying challengesAble to be flexible in working with people and groups of differing viewpointsA strong dedication to youth developmentA sense of creativity and enthusiasmCantonese or Mandarin speakers a plus, but not necessary.CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to receive training)Responsibilities:Support the APG Student Government:

Lunch Clubs:
Implementing a youth leadership lunch club that meets weeklyProviding structure for the Lunch Club in terms of providing a place to meet, agendas, tasks, projects, etc.Host lunchtime event each monthExecute administrative tasks (Lunch Club agreements, Club Constitution, meeting notes, Google Classroom, Slideshow presentations)Support students in their vision and plans for the club (ex. provide feedback on writing piece ideas, collaborate with event planning, etc.)Maintain the motivation and collaboration of the club through positive reinforcement and regular reminders of agreementsEncourage students to build leadership roles through participating in the meetings in the form of making a space for them to collaborate and share with one another in front of the group
