Job Description

SUMMARY

The Director of Health and Wellness possesses and demonstrates a solid connection to the values of First United Bank. They are responsible for developing and managing comprehensive wellness initiatives for employees and promoting a culture of health within the organization. Key responsibilities include creating engaging wellness programs, improving employee health outcomes, and collaborating with management to enhance wellness strategies.

This position requires regular, potentially weekly, travel throughout Oklahoma and Texas.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Develop, organize, and implement diverse wellness programs and events that address employees' physical, mental, and emotional health needs, such as exercise classes, stress management workshops, wellness challenges, health fairs, and screenings.
  • Develop and provide health and wellness education through seminars, webinars, written materials, etc.
  • Maintain a keen awareness of health trends, employee demographics, and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with HR to conduct employee wellness clinics, surveys, analyzing results to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Facilitate wellness programs like Virgin Pulse and Wondr Health throughout the First United enterprise.
  • Monitor and report on program participation and outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with external wellness vendors and oversee budget allocations.
  • Maintain wellness facilities, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards, creating spaces and programming that inspires participation.
  • Utilize health plan resources to support program development.
  • Supervise in-house café operations to promote Health & Wellness Pillar standards and foster employee engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with all SLW Ambassadors, Pillar Directors, and Regional Love & Impact Councils to support and advocate for health and wellness initiatives.
  • Create marketing and communication strategies to promote wellness programs and increase employee participation.
  • Manage the Company's SLW Facebook page in collaboration with all Pillar managers

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field; nutrition or health education preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including onsite wellness and 1:1 health coaching.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification required; Health Education Specialist or Wellness Program Coordinator certification preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills


Technical/Functional Competencies
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong initiative and follow-through on projects and deliverables
