Position: Linux Administrator

Location: Alexandria, VA

Overview: Group W, Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking an experienced and resourceful Linux Administrator to support the establishment and maintenance of computer systems infrastructure and administration in support of ongoing Modeling and Simulation Analysis (MSandA) efforts. This position requires on-site work at both the Mark Center in Alexandria, and the Marine Base at Quantico. The Linux Administrator will be expected to report to both locations as needed.

Requirements:

Active DoD Top Secret clearanceU.S. CitizenshipBachelor's degree from an accredited universityInformation Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification to include one or more of the following:

CCNA SecurityCySA+GICSPGSECSecurity +

Linux + certificationAuthorization to operate classified systems to include security control requirements and mandated security scanning procedures

Preferred:

Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityStrong proficiency in Linux OS encompassing installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance, particularly on RHEL distributionsProven expertise in system administration tasks including user management, permissions, file systems, disk and package management, network configuration, and security administrationFamiliarity with system hardening techniques to secure Linux and Windows servers/workstations, adhering to DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) by configuring firewalls, managing user permissions, and implementing encryptionUnderstanding of network protocols, security principles, and hands-on experience in network configuration and troubleshooting on Linux platformsExperience with intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), vulnerability scanning tools, and security information and event management (SIEM) systemsCapability to swiftly resolve security incidents on both Linux and Windows systemsKnowledge of virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware, or Docker can provide an added advantageBasic proficiency in MySQL database management systems (DBMS)Experience with STORM (Synthetic Theater Research Operations Model) or other MSandA softwarePrior military experience or analysis conducted in support of the Department of DefenseFamiliarity with theater OPLANs and/or Defense Planning Scenarios

Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain a classified analytic intranet composed of Windows and Linux based networked computers peer-to-peer and/or cluster connections enabling STORM campaign analysisApply Department of Defense Risk Management Framework principles to support obtaining authorization to operate for the classified analytic intranet

Salary: $100,000 to $150,000 (This range is provided as a general guideline; final compensation will be commensurate with experience.)
