Proven experience as a Java Developer, with a strong portfolio of Java-based applications or projectsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field required5-8 years related work experience required in software developmentExperience working in Windows and Linux environmentsExperience with more than one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, C#, ASP.NET, PHP or JavaScriptExperience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform servicesAdvanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systemsResponsibilities
Working under the direction of Manager, Software Engineering, the incumbent is responsible for developing, testing, updating, and supporting software designed to meet the evolving needs of Beth Israel Lahey Health staff, clinicians, and patientsThe incumbent must demonstrate strong technical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work on development projects independently and ensure that business specifications and end user requirements are met and projects are delivered on timeThe incumbent must have the ability to provide effective peer support and help troubleshoot complex issuesA solid understanding of cloud services, platforms, and best development practicesDesign, develop, and maintain Java-based applications, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalabilityCollaborate with other team members on various projects and BILH initiativesCommunicate effectively with clients and other technical teamsAssist and train intermediate developers when neededProvide code-reviews for intermediate developersDebug software and ensure documentation is updatedProvide on-call support as neededJob Type
