www.worldbank.orgThe World Bank Group Finance and Accounting’s Structured Finance division (WFASF) is responsible for accounting and valuation review of financial instruments of the capital markets and the liquid investment portfolios.Responsibility of the Financial Analyst:Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of accounting/valuation data, systems and reporting deliverables as it relates to the capital markets and investments portfolios. This includes but is not limited to reviewing inputs to the ledgers, maintaining the ledgers, and performing/reviewing reconciliations to ensure accuracy of ledgers.Analyze accounting/valuation results as they relate to financial instruments to ensure they are consistent with expectations and business objectives, or those deviations are understood and adequately documented.Prepare/Review various statutory and management reports as required by the department.Assist in various daily control and review procedures including performing system to system reconciliations, researching control breaks and preparing the necessary correcting journal entries.Develop analytical tools, perform analysis, develop expectations, prepare commentaries, suggest and implement solutions in a pro-active manner.Participate in the department’s projects and business initiatives.Selection CriteriaThe Financial Analyst is expected to hold a university degree in finance or accounting with 3 or more years of experience in the financial sector. Knowledge of financial instruments, especially capital markets and money market instruments, are highly desirable. Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, V-lookups, macros, and other data and financial related Excel functions. Good oral and written communication skills in English are required.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or relevant discipline. Master's degree is a plus.Professional accounting/finance qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification, and/or CFA); andMinimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.Experience with a financial institution or a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.The World Bank Group is committed to achieving diversity in terms of gender, nationality, culture and educational background.
