This individual will lead initiatives to implement HR Strategy, organization design, talent management pipelines, employee development, legal compliance, and continue to support and enhance the Sonnax culture. Reporting directly to the Sonnax President, the HR Director will collaborate with the leadership team, influencing and acting as a trusted business partner and player-coach to drive business outcomes.

Broadly, the HR Director is responsible for a wide range of functions including HR Strategy, Organization Design & Effectiveness, Talent Management, Employee Development, Cultural Transformation, Safety and Employee Engagement. This role has multi-site responsibility and will manage a team of 3.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCulture : Learn, embrace, and serve as a champion for Sonnax’s culture, fostering teamwork and collaboration; Lean champion; act as employee engagement champion coordinating the delivery of our annual survey, analysis and communication of results and subsequent action plans. Champion Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity initiatives.

Talent :Talent Acquisition

– manage talent acquisition activities as necessary and advise on market compensation requirements. Actively participate with leadership to source, evaluate, select and onboard talent.

Talent Management

– build and maintain sufficient quantity and quality of talent, succession planning, development planning.

Organization Design : Assess organizational capabilities and identify needs for the business (short and long term); lead and partner with other leaders on organizational change needed to support the business objectives, this includes org design, communication strategies, evaluating work structure, job design, workforce planning, and change management.

Performance Management : Lead and support performance management cycle, advising and coaching on goal setting and alignment, year-end review process, and compensation planning process.

Compensation : Develop and administer job evaluations, annual compensation review programs.

Learning & Development : Design, deliver, and implement training programs as needed to develop talent and leadership capabilities within the organization.

Employee Relations : Lead and support employee relations matters including policy creation, interpretations, and investigations, as needed. Provide coaching to managers based on business needs and applicable HR practices.

Compliance : Ensure compliance with required legal postings. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the HR Function; ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance, as required.

Safety : Support safety initiatives and culture; ensure compliance (i.e. OSHA logs).

Qualifications8+ years of broad-based HR experience in a strategic business partner environment; 4+ years as a people manager.

Experience developing and executing talent, development, succession, engagement, and recognition initiatives.

Strong experience in employee relations.

Strong leadership skills; strong influencing and negotiating skills.

Excellent communications skills.

Great attention to detail.

Strong analytics and business acumen.

Strong MS Office experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field. Master’s preferred.

Prior experience working in a decentralized, entrepreneurial environment a plus.

Ability to travel up to 20%.
