We accomplish our mission of feeding neighbors experiencing food insecurity and hunger through strategic food distribution partnerships with over 100 pantry partners, and approximately 1,000 client choice mobile pantry distributions. El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is the second youngest food bank in the country and the sixth largest in terms of food distribution; the food bank itself, is the largest distribution of food in this region for those experiencing hunger. Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic HR Generalist to join El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting various human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, FMLA/LOA administration, pay & timekeeping support, event coordination and support of day-to-day operations and administrative requirements. This role is essential in ensuring our organization attracts, retains, and develops a talented and motivated workforce committed to our mission.

This position will help implement and lead Human Resources practices and objectives and will establish and maintain healthy and positive working relationships with all EPFH staff. A high degree of discretion and confidentiality with personnel and company-proprietary information is required.

Essential Job Functions

Include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Recruitment and Onboarding:Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and selection.Conduct new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.Partner with hiring manager to develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications.2. Employee Relations:

Serve as a point of contact for employee and manager inquiries and concerns.Promote a positive work environment through effective conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.Assist in the development and implementation of employee recognition programs.3. Performance Management:

Support managers in conducting performance evaluations and setting performance goals.Assist in developing performance improvement plans and providing coaching and feedback.Assist with the corrective disciplinary action process, provide guidance to both managers and employeesMonitor and track employee performance and development plans.4. Benefits Administration:

Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.Assist employees with benefits-related questions and issues.Coordinate open enrollment and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Assist with pay & timekeeping questions.5. Compliance:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.6. Training and Development:

Identify training needs and coordinate employee training programs.Support professional development initiatives and career pathing.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.7. HR Projects and Initiatives:

Participate in and support the execution of the People segment of our EPFH Strategic PlanCollaborate with the leadership team to implement best practices and continuous improvement efforts.Implement offboarding practices such as exit interviewsImplement HRIS modules such as Performance Management & online Compliance Training via PaychexAssist in developing and promoting organizational culture and values.Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.3-5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a non-profit organization.Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Strong organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.Ability to pass a background check and drug testingBilingual (English/Spanish)Preferred Qualifications

SHRM CertificationKnowledge of DOT regulations & Texas Truck Driver Labor LawsExperience implementing HRIS modulesExperience working in the non-profit sector
