IT Specialist (Help Desk)

ROLE

We need an experienced IT Specialist (Help Desk) at the Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) and the Naval Dosimetry Center (NDC). The NMCPHC is the Navy and Marine Corps center for public health services. The NDC serves as the Navy's ionizing radiation dosimetry center of excellence for radiation protection programs for the Navy and Marine Corps. The NDC provides leadership and expertise to ensure mission readiness through disease prevention and health promotion in support of the National Military Strategy. In this role, you will assist command writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), training guides, quick references, tutorials, and User Guides. RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in collecting new requirements for development to meet customer's needsAssist in resolving complex IT program and implementation issues, especially with cross-platform data and IT systems that require coordination and compatibilityMaintain a good working relationship with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and DHA IT StaffProvide suggestions as appropriate on situations requiring changes in resources, impacts on established policies, broad program goals, or projected timetablesAnalyze and refine customer requirements, translating requirements into applications revisions and upgradesDesign user interfaces and works with customers to test applications and ensure software and systems quality and functionalityEvaluate new applications software technologiesWrite and maintains program documentationEnsure that the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software servicesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with testing and troubleshooting web applicationsStrong skills with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience in providing technical help desk support to end users and customers After reporting, required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating change 3, 24 Jan 2013 or current version)EDUCATION
