Job Description

Fibertek, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a MISSION ASSURANCE ENGINEER, in Herndon, VA. The successful candidate will have demonstrable leadership abilities and will possess excellent decision-making abilities, good communication skills, and the ability to work closely and effectively with Program Management, project personnel, and support staff. Candidates must be able to develop organizational processes and possess a working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, including expertise in process improvement. The candidate should also have a working knowledge of the quality practices in long-term Space Flight, Military, and other demanding environments.

Essential Job Duties:

Provide QA/SMA support for the assembly, test, and delivery of high reliability electrooptic systems for space and military applicationsParticipate in the development of assembly and test documentation, including hardware inspection requirementsPerform and coordinate in-process inspectionsParticipate in test verification activities by providing QA/SMA supportLead and coordinate disposition and documentation of nonconformancesCoordinate the status and response to customer audits/surveys and customer issues related to mission assuranceReview documentation to verify compliance with customer SMA requirements (SOW review, data requirements lists, etc.) and as-built process documentation (production work orders, test procedures, etc.)Provide QA/SMA support to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors, as required, for contract quality and mission assurance requirements, including support for material review, qualification and reliability requirements, acceptance test procedures, etc.General office and light-duty laboratory environment, no special physical demands required. Some lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds required.Job Requirements

Experience and expertise required:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with five years of related mission/quality assurance experienceKnowledge of quality practices in long-term Space Flight, Military, and other high-reliability environmentsExperience with ISO 9001:2015 or AS9100, including expertise in process improvement (lead auditor certification desired but not required)Ability to work closely and effectively with Program Management and project personnelStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamDesired experience withElectronics acceptance standards of IPC-A-610 Class 3, NASA STD-8739 and IPC J-STD-001 (with space Addendum)Hardware space qualificationReading engineering drawingsWorking in a cleanroom environmentFamiliarity working with optomechanical and electronic assembliesUS citizenship required
