DescriptionBackground Information:Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Software Deployment Engineer to be based out of our Arlington, Virginia or Mt. Laurel, New Jersey office.Overview:IDT is seeking a Software Deployment Engineer with 3+ years of experience. This position offers an engineer the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and talents as part of a collaborative team developing software for a growing company.All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance

.Responsibilities Include:Develop, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code software for automated deployment and configuration of a multi-site, multi-system environmentParticipate in identification and applications of emerging technologies and architectures including evaluation of cloud operations platforms such as cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaSDeveloping design documentationCommunicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and lead engineersMinimum Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or Math3+ years of professional software deployment experience in technically rigorous environmentsRequired Skills:Experience with container technologies (Docker and Docker-Compose etc.)Proficiency in automation scripts and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Salt, etc.Basic full-stack development skills: SQL, Python/Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSSStrong Linux skillsHigh degree of competence in Bash and ShellAbility to shift from one project to another in an agile work environmentBasic networking experienceStrong documentation skillsAbility to travel approximately 10 - 20%Preferred Skills:Experience with Kubernetes distros such as OpenShift, RKE2 and/or TanzuExperience with software defined networking (SDN) such as NSX-TExperience with Git, Jenkins, ArtifactoryExperience with server and or desktop virtualizationDevSecOps experienceVirtualization Infrastructure Experience with VMware or similar virtualization toolsNetworking experience – TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewall, NetBIOS, switching, Routing, VLANsExperience with at least one public cloud environment, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft AzureCompetencies:Solid analytical abilities, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and driveAttention to detailAbility to adapt to and thrive in a fast-paced environmentAbility to prioritize tasksProblem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguous situationsBe able to communicate with customers when neededExcellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohortsEEO Statement:
