IT Support Technician I

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The IT Help Desk is the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests. The role of the IT Support Technician is to provide front line support for all staff. The IT Support Technician is responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. The desktop support technician is required to track all support requests through a ticketing system and track all resolutions to issues. IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, and in person.

Minimum Required Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of building and configuring PCs and laptops, loading software, and conducting audits for unlicensed softwareMinimum 1-year experience or education equivalentMust be a US Citizen

Additional Desired Qualifications:

Network cabling experience is considered a plusKnowledge of JIRA Service Desk or a similar ticketing system a plus

Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:

Complete work orders such as:Installing equipmentConnecting and moving devicesInstalling disk drives, memory and other hardware componentsSoftware installationsInstall Windows OS on new computers

Sets up technology for new hiresProvide desktop, mobile device, phone and email usage support and training to new usersTroubleshoot and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipmentAdhere to policies for access control and security administration, including password troubleshooting and password resetsAssemble, install, configure and test computer equipmentInstall and configure new IT equipmentResolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsAble to work in a team as well as independentlyExperienced in providing professional and courteous customer service

Work Environment:

This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).This is a full-time position. On-call rotation and occasional weekend support is expected.This position is based in our Parsippany location and may require occasional travel to our Montville office location.No regular travel is expected for this position

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hearThe employee is frequently required to reach and lift with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feelThe employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, turn, etc., and move about the facilityThe employee may be required to lift, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds

This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.
