is seeking a
Linux Administrator
to support a team of administrators with standard Linux system administration duties at
CAOC in Huntsville, AL .The selected candidate will perform standard Linux System Administration duties as required to maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems consisting of Linux based application and license servers, virtual machines, and shared services. Coordination with network, and storage administrators is required.
Additional duties:Setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.Participating in the installation, integration, acceptance testing, and on-going maintenance of systems and software environment.Assisting with forecast resource limitations and provide recommendations for increasing the efficiency of our resources through proper scheduling and load balancing techniques.Support and develop automation to streamline and standardize deployment and maintenance task.Build and maintain automation framework to support the overall system to include customer onboarding/offboarding, standard maintenance/patching, and user/account administration using Ansible.Develop knowledge to maintain and administer container based solutions.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience (additional experience may be substituted for the degree)DoD 8570 certification - Security + and OS cert, Linux+, RedHat, etc. (90 day waiver may beprovided to obtain the OS certification)Willingness to occasionally work after hours and/or respond to emergency situations for problem resolutionGeneral knowledge of Linux and general Unix operating systems concepts as well as systems administration experienceAbility to develop and maintain documentation on system administration procedures for routine and complex tasksAbility to create and maintain Information Assurance (IA) compliance documentation of the Information System
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills :Experience with compiling, installing, and porting software.Experience with storage devices and NFS storage protocol.Familiar in multi-factor authentication platforms and solutions, and Identity Management such as -OpenID, LDAP, and Kerberos.Security implementations using multi-factor authentication, PKI, or Kerberos and Unix OS hardening to DoD STIG standards.Experience programming or troubleshooting Python codeExperience with supporting Apache Web ServerExperience with Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux distrosExperience with Red Hat Satellite or Red Hat Identity ManagerExperience with BIND DNSExperience with AnsibleExperience with Gitlab
