is seeking a

Director of Sales

to support the sales of our K-12 Curriculum in our Southwest territory, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. This position develops, manages, and drives revenue growth and meets sales targets. A strategic leader who guides activities and, when applicable, will manage a team of employees to accomplish those goals. The Director will propose and execute strategy and activities to achieve maximum sales volume potential for all products and/or services. Working with RVP's, Finance, and Operations, the Director of Sales will set revenue objectives for growth and be responsible for achieving these objectives.

This position will supervise Account Managers in our Southwest territory, and candidates will need to reside within the assigned territory to be considered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business DevelopmentStrategic planning and developing new business for open territory and/or state adoptions.Identification and relationship of key executives within our largest customers.Conduct Forecast and pipeline review meetings with account managers.Ensure lead generation and pipeline growth will sustain revenue targets.Assist with the development of new sales materials.

People ManagementCoach and mentor Account Managers to drive sales within a specific territory.Lead regularly scheduled internal staff development meetings.Oversee professional development of all sales staff.Recruit, hire, and onboard top sales talent. Assist in training and evaluation of the sales team.

MarketingAssist in formulating and implementing sales strategies and tactics in collaboration with Marketing.Establish lead generation initiatives in all our programs, designed to generate potential customer interest in, or inquiry into, our products and services and boost sales and revenue.

OperationsCollaborate on the marketing, expansion, and development of programs.Lead in facilitating communication and collaboration with key stakeholders to address any issues and concerns related to sales processes, strategies, and performance.Partner with internal stakeholders such as marketing, program management, and other supporting departments regarding market trends, competition, and changes in teacher licensure/recertification, and other factors impacting sales.Represent sales at Senior leadership team meetings.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEBA; business management, education, or related field; or BA with excellent work-related experience.5+ years of field sales experience in a sales-driven environment with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality products and services.Track record of sales success as demonstrated by having met or exceeded sales quotas.Deep understanding of the K12 educational landscape, adoption process, and decision making hierarchies.Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and ongoing partnerships.Ability to find funding sources.Experience leading an outside sales team.Passion about building and leading high-performing teams.Experience managing P&L and budget process.

PREFERREDAdvanced degree highly preferred.Previous experience teaching or selling Math products/programs is highly preferred.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIESAbility to develop strategic plans that support company goals.Ability to mentor and coach account managers and supervise and motivate staff in implementing and expanding sales.Advanced skills in opening sales territory and bringing new ideas for efficient marketing of distance courses and programs.

OTHERThis role will cover markets throughout the Southwest territory and requires up to 50% travel.Occasional travel to off-site events will be required.
