Overview

Leepfrog Technologies, Inc. provides its CourseLeaf software to more than 500 of the nation's most academically complex colleges and universities to manage their academic catalogs, curriculum, section scheduling, registration, and syllabi management.

This on-site position, with some work hour flexibility, is primarily in the support of hosting the CourseLeaf web application product suite and related resources. The ideal candidate will be thoroughly versed in the installation and maintenance of Linux and/or other versions of Unix. Candidates should be comfortable with the configuration of Apache or related web services, Linux and networking fundamentals, and the ability to write scripts in an administrative language. The candidate will be able to work in a flexible, team-oriented environment with a complex, heterogeneous system and network configuration.

This position will work with a team of Linux systems administrators. Duties performed by this and other members of the team may include:Diagnosing hardware and software problems, and replacing defective components. Performing periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.Developing scripts and other software to automate systems administration tasks.Deploying and supporting services using cloud and virtual services environments such as AWS and Red Hat VirtualizationDeveloping and maintaining systems to include High Availability and Disaster Recovery elementsConfiguring and maintaining server environments for hosting the CourseLeaf software suite, and associated resources.Assist Leepfrog staff with the use of the hosting environment, as well as assist with issues such as data backup and archive, storage utilization, etc.Working with Leepfrog's customers to deploy and support web hosting, authentication and other components of Leepfrog's software.Supporting a variety of web-based authentication technologies, including Shibboleth/SAML, CAS, and AD/LDAPSupporting hosting of third-party software.Deploying and maintaining hardware and networking equipment associated with CourseLeaf and related hosting.Deploying and maintaining a Linux user environment for Leepfrog staff.Applying OS and other software patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrading administrative tools and utilities. Configuring/adding new services as necessary.Troubleshooting IT systems when there is an issue reported by users.Implementing security software and tools to ensure maximum security from outside threats.The candidate must be available for 24/7 on-call rotation and should be able to contribute to the above team duties.

Qualifications

A minimum of two (2) years' prior experience administering Linux or Unix systems is required. Experience with RHEL systems administration, security, and cloud are plusses. Customer service skills are required. Experience with any of the following is beneficial: database administration, disaster recovery systems, network administration, cloud services such as AWS, and/or high availability environments.

Physical Requirements

The work environment includes typical computer-related noise levels and paper and equipment-generated dust. The incumbent is on call to provide support services during off hours, as needed. Scheduled night and weekend work is occasionally required. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding and the use of peripheral equipment. Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
