Media Engineering is an innovative organization that is focused on providing the best possible video playback experience, art, and metadata to customers around the world, powered by exceptional technology. This strategic work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels - including streaming, linear, and theatrical - so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.
Live and Linear Tooling Team (LILOX)
This team is responsible for the management of Live and Linear airings across the spaces. This means ingesting airings as CNF from Metal, managing linear schedules to ensure no gaps or overlaps between airings on a single channel, contract resolution for blackout or features such as replay/lookback, as well as tools for the management of airings, live events, and stream health and fallback logic.
Responsibilities:• Craft web application software using REACT, with strong software development fundamentals and strong design principles (object oriented or functional)• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables• Contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation• Build quality products• Provide on-call rotational support as needed
Basic Qualifications:• 6+ years of software engineering experience• Experience in programming with Frontend UI development and proficient with one or more general purpose programming languages (Javascript, Python etc)• Desire to work in a start-up, fast-growth, or rapid-change environment• Problem-solving skills to identify the root cause• Solid communication skills - written, and oral• Understanding of agile methodologies and git source control• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure• Experience using technologies/services such as Terraform, Jenkins, Docker• Experience with React, Angular, NodeJS• Experience building APIs• Experience building high availability UIs with complex security requirements
