SUMMARY:
As an HCL Commerce Architect, your role is to design and oversee the implementation of e-commerce solutions using the HCL Commerce platform. HCL Commerce (formerly known as IBM WebSphere Commerce) is a robust and scalable e-commerce platform that enables businesses to create and manage online stores, handle customer orders, and provide a seamless shopping experience.
DUTIES:
- Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and development teams to understand requirements and design scalable and efficient e-commerce solutions using HCL Commerce.
- You will define the system architecture, data models, integration points, and overall solution design.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for ensuring that the solution architecture aligns with industry best practices, standards, and HCL Commerce capabilities.
- Customize and extend the HCL Commerce platform to meet specific business requirements. This may involve developing custom modules, extensions, or integrations with external systems.
- Optimize the performance and scalability of the e-commerce solution to ensure it can handle high traffic and transaction volumes. This may involve performance tuning, caching strategies, load testing, and capacity planning.
- Ensure the security of the e-commerce solution by implementing industry-standard security practices, such as secure coding, data encryption, and authentication mechanisms. You'll also need to be familiar with compliance requirements such as PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
- Create technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and deployment guides. You may also provide training and knowledge transfer to development teams or clients' technical staff.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in e-commerce technologies, HCL Commerce updates, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities to enhance the e-commerce solution and propose improvements to clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You'll need to have a strong understanding of HCL Commerce, Salesforce, Java, J2EE, and web technologies.
- Experience with designing and implementing integrations between HCL Commerce and other enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, payment gateways, and logistics providers.
- Experience with integration frameworks and middleware technologies like IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus
- Deep understanding of e-commerce concepts, strong technical skills in Java/J2EE, web technologies, and experience with HCL Commerce or similar e-commerce platforms.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders, business users, and development teams effectively.
- Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential for success as an HCL Commerce Architect.
