Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a strong Full-Stack Python/React Developer for a Contractor (or right-to-hire) assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in midtown Manhattan, New York.
**This position will be hybrid - partial remote and onsite (2 days per week) in midtown NYC effective immediately**
We are seeking a Senior Application Developer with a proven track record in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications, to spearhead efforts in enhancing the performance, efficiency, and user experience of our MIO Application Landscape. The ideal candidate will work closely with developers, architects, database administrators, DevOps, and business project managers, playing a crucial role in developing and executing effective strategies and as part of this group, you will join a team working on everything from IT modernization and strategy to agile, cloud, and digital transformation.
Responsibilities:rchitecture and System Design:
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of architectures focusing on cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Azure.Utilize strong knowledge of IT architecture and technology delivery, incorporating Agile and DevOps methodologies in software delivery.
Development:
Leverage expert programming skills in Python and React JS to develop front-end and back-end components of web applications.Implement and maintain database solutions using SQL, ensuring robustness, performance, and seamless data integration.Design and develop advanced data models in MySQL, enhancing database development and ensuring optimal performance and integration.Employ comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes using tools like AWS Code Deploy and Terraform.Experience with Django and FastAPI framework is a big plus
Quality Assurance and Performance Optimization:
Contribute to automation efforts, improving system quality attributes such as performance, scalability, and maintainability.Utilize modern monitoring, alerting, and logging tools like Dynatrace and Sentry to ensure optimal application performance and quick issue resolution.

7+ years of experience in technology solutions, with a focus on SaaS delivery models.Strong programming skills in Python and React JS.Extensive experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.Expertise in SQL and advanced MySQL data model design and database development.In-depth knowledge of SQL and database architecture.Solid understanding of object-oriented design (OOD) principles.Experience with Linux systems and a range of DevOps tools including AWS Code Deploy, Code Commit, and Terraform.Experience in designing and developing microservices architecture.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to synthesize conclusions into actionable recommendations.Strong business acumen and familiarity with current IT trends.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
Financial ServicesCertifications in AWS, Azure, Python, or related fields.Previous experience in a senior application development role within a technology team.Knowledge of additional programming languages and frameworks is a plus.
