Works with department and sales leadership to ensure alignment with expectations, goals, vision and prioritiesAccountable for implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for short-term results and midterm planning for the departmentPromotes an effective team-oriented atmosphere and trains and mentors new and existing staffProactively & independently liaise with other teams (e.g. HR, Product Marketing, Sales Tools Development, Technical training) when their support and cooperation is required to complete tasks and helps optimize interdepartmental communication and working processesProvide and administer project level application support to Daikin sales staff and our network of Daikin Manufacturer Reps & Distributors in the North American marketOrganize and chair team meetings when specific tasks require team co-ordinationOversee the creation of technical documentation and presentations for use by staff & sales partnersProvide technical presentations in the field to our sales partnersTrain the trainer: Provide insight & guidance to the application team, tasked with presenting application materialsManage and delegate tasks that are varied and complex.Adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet specialized needs.Work on and develop non-routine tasks.Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasksUtilize sales tools to support Distributors, Manufacturers Representatives, Contractors & Engineers regarding design & application of equipment in the commercial marketSpecification Support: Develop instruction & guidelines to create better Daikin specs for Reps & EngineersCompetitor conversion and comparison skills to maximize Daikin's opportunities for all projectsCodes & Standards Support: Provide high level support and understanding for applicable national and local codes and standardsProvide input & guidance to marketing team for the creation of Technical Tools / Selection GuidesPro-actively represent Daikin at networking events and seminarsAssist in project development by providing alternate equipment selections and optionsParticipate in additional projects to support ongoing business needsEnsures work is aligned with the managers expectations, goals, and visionApplies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experienceManages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervisionCoaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionalsProblems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutionsProven ability to manage multiple people and lead and grow a team with strong people management skillsAbility to regularly organize and run team meetings when specific tasks require team co-ordinationProactively liaise with other teams (e.g. Product Marketing, Sales Tools development) when their support and cooperation is required to complete tasksKnowledge of HVAC products, load calculations, building controls, duct design and installation practicesExcellent presentation and written/verbal communication skillsAbility to manage and respond to technical questionsMust have computer proficiency - Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to create and develop company-wide documents, tools, practices, and processesAbility to interact effectively and provide information to customers, consultants, and internal personnel, including senior management, Daikin Corporate PersonnelPositive, flexible Attitude: With a can-do approach to solving problemsProblem Solving: Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems, to resolve issuesCommunication, negotiation, persuasion: Regularly exchange supportive information, ideas, opinions, and thoughts with staff at all levels so issues can be handled with mutual understanding and effectiveness. Experience:

10 plus years of HVAC industry experience

Previous team leader/managerial experience is beneficial

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, relevant industry experience

People Management: Yes
