Do you wish to be challenged to think creatively?The Data Services team is seeking an accomplished Database Engineer with expertise in Oracle, distributed databases like CockroachDB (CRDB), and graph databases who will be responsible for crafting database architecture and design solutions to maintain extensive database infrastructure supporting critical Apple environments. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in database design, adept solving skills, and a talent for root cause analysis. Moreover, you should have a wealth of experience with database replication tools and be adept at handling high availability setups.Description
In this role, your responsibilities will span various RDBMS technologies and distributed databases as you oversee dynamic, distributed database environments crucial for supporting OLTP systems. Collaboration will be key, as you work closely with a diverse, multi-functional team, both locally and remotely, to design, develop, and support the advancement of our next-generation products and processes.Minimum Qualifications
Experience with distributed databases like CockroachDB, including setup, configuration, and management.Knowledge of graph databases (e.g., ArrangoDB, TigerGraph) and related query languages (e.g., Cypher, GSQL).Implement infrastructure automation and scripting using tools like GitHub, CloudFormation, Shell, Go, Python, Ansible, and Terraform.Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques for proactive performance management.Key Qualifications

10+ years of proven experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle GoldenGate.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to fix sophisticated database issues and propose effective solutions.Education & Experience

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
